When you are a performer — drag, rap, or like me a DJ, energy is so fucking important. I mean, it is totally fucking vital to a successful night. We give as much as we get. Bear and Big folk events generally do NOT have the same energy as others, but ClubChubNYC (@clubchubparty) is totally different. First thing you have to understand is that it’s Tea-Dance running from 3-9p. But the venue Red Eye (@redeye_ny) is fucking fantastic.
The ideal blend of class and camp, a perfect place to be seen and to see all of the seedness. This multi-level homage to the avant-garde is the perfect backdrop to what can only be called one of the most “non-conventional” teas I have ever performed at.
The kids were out in fucking force. This ballroom of big-boys sent me beyond. To say that my heart is full is a grand fucking understatement. I am very much looking forward to the next time I get to come back and be a part of the power of chub!
